Over the Christmas season, I had to have my cat Kramer put to sleep, due to a major illness. I wanted a little time to grieve, and think about what I wanted to do next.
Last night, I took the plunge, and I'm now a two feline household. I picked up "Nosey", and "Josh" from an overfull adoption center in a nearby town. They called "Nosey" "Nosey" for obvious reasons, and the other one was named "Josh", "Because he looks like a Josh", whatever that means. Both are affectionate, and in-your-face cats (well, at least, at the shelter they were).
They are two brothers in a litter of at least 5. They were captured in a bank parking lot, and two have already been adopted. I wanted two this time, so they'd keep each other company.
I got home last night around 9:30. When I got 'em home (and no complaints during the ride home!), they stayed in the carrier, even though it was cramped.

They did push against each other a little, but also cleaned each other.

Eventually, around 1:30 AM, "Josh" wandered out, and went under the couch and credenza. "Nosey" poked his head out, and did some wandering before also ending up joining him.
I just missed "Josh"'s tail under the couch here.

They apparently stayed there through the night, and are there this morning. I put out food and water for them, and eventually, I'm sure they will come out. There will be a time of adjustment. Every cat is different
Once they're more acclimated, I will have to change their names, but maybe after I find their personalities first. I was thinking of "Loki" and "Biel", but maybe thats a little too nerdy, or is it? Star Trek TOS fans will understand
PS, for those of you who are looking, check out Petfinder.com, which lists your local adoption centers. Very useful!
